Diamonds of Light by Mary DeShazo

My book is about events in my life, like diamonds in the raw making their debut in a wonderful light both dark and luminous. I was a grand juror in Washington, D.C.; the experience was cascading poems about death, corruption and emerging from that conflict.

As a wife and a mother, educator, artist and interpreter, I was attracted by light, the chiaroscuro from everyday's life. I was astonished by the brilliance of God in the humans, animals and the material world.

These poems and short stories remember the events in life in India and Chile, as a student and in the Foreign Service. My story is your story, in planet Earth and beyond to the stars.
