Thanks from P&P

As has become a tradition for us, we mark the Thanksgiving holiday with this message of thanks to the many people who support Politics and Prose and the part it plays in the civic life of our community. Now especially, after such a challenging year with the pandemic persisting, we want to express our deepest appreciation to all of you who continue to shop with us and sustain us through this difficult period. We’re also very grateful to P&P’s skilled and dedicated staff, who have persevered during the Covid-19 crisis and whose determined adherence to public health precautions has kept P&P a safe place to shop.

It’s been a decade since the two of us assumed ownership of P&P, and we’re more committed than ever to the mission of the store and the patrons who back it. P&P is so fortunate to serve a community that understands the importance of buying local, recognizes the special value of independent bookstores, and believes in promoting the discussion of literature and the rigorous and respectful exchange of ideas.

Please know that all of us at P&P remain devoted to providing a haven for people to gather, browse, converse, learn, and reflect—as well as to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal. We recognize that as a local business we can always do better—and that many of you won’t be shy about letting us know what should be improved. We look forward to even deeper ties throughout the Washington area in the months ahead.

Our gratitude to one and all. Happy Thanksgiving!
