With a few short but dense books, Keegan has been taking the literary world by storm. Her dense, jewel-like writing with its remarkable concision has earned comparisons to fellow Irish master William Trevor and the great Anton Chekhov. Her most recent novel Small Things Like These appeared on numerous best of 2022 lists and was short-listed for the Booker, while her book Foster was recently made into the first Irish film to be nominated for an International Feature Oscar. Over three weeks, we'll take a look at three key works of this rising literary star: her story collection Walk the Blue Fields, as well as the books Small Things Like These and Foster. Please read Walk the Blue Fields for the first session.
