A great beginning is the key to a successful travel story. In this workshop, participants will read and discuss award-winning travel stories that illustrate the fine art of crafting an engaging beginning. Utilizing these lessons, participants will then conceive and write the beginning of their own travel story. Participants will read and discuss each other's beginnings, and then revise those beginnings to make them as engaging and compelling as possible; the goal is to craft a beginning that sets the stage for a successful travel story and powerfully draws the reader into the middle of the piece.

This class will be limited to 20 participants.
